41 jaar Swingorkest EemJazz op 7 mei

Op 5 mei 1981 trad het swingorkest Eemjazz voor het eerst op bij Moeke Spijkstra in Blaricum (waarschijnlijk hebben ze toen voor Moeke gekozen omdat de Kruisdam nog niet bestond 😉). Het werd een feest en daarna werden ze regelmatig gevraagd in cafés, restaurants, op vernissages, jazzfestivals, jazzclubs, privépartijen, culturele evenementen, enz.

Het repertoire was breed en is dat steeds gebleven: swing, Latin, ballads, hits van alle tijden en ook veel 50/60er jaren; ze spelen wat ze leuk vinden.

Een greep uit de songs die ze zoal ten gehore brengen:

is the Boy for Me, Shame and Scandal in the Family, Let's Do It etc. etc.

Ze laten zich inspireren door zowel oudere als jongere componisten/songwriters:
Fats Domino (Blueberry Hill), Louis Prima (Jamabalaya, Buona Sera), The Everly Brothers (Bye Bye Love), Guy Mitchell (Singing The Blues), Madeleine Peyroux (J'ai Deux Amours, Dance Me To The End Of Love, Walking After Midnight) en The Animals (The House Of The Rising Sun).

De band bestaat uit:
Peter Ivan - cornet, sopranino blokfluit
Frits Armbrust - klarinet/saxen
Hansje Armbrust - gitaar/zang
Hans Rombouts - contrabas
Peter den Boer - drums/zang/presentatie.
